OLYMPIA, Wash. —

A state representative is behind a push to forbid local governments from making certain dog breeds illegal.

According to the Kitsap Sun, in a hearing Wednesday, Rep. Sherry Appleton told a committee the state is euthanizing dogs that did nothing wrong, just because someone called them pit bulls.

At least that's what Rep. Sherry Appleton, D-Poulsbo, believes she is addressing in her bill to forbid local governments from making specific dog breeds illegal.

Yes, we're talking about pit bulls.
