As the weather gets colder, one creative way to warm up is to snuggle with a cuddly canine. So, next time there’s a chill in the air, build a fire, grab a blanket and get cozy with one of these affectionate breeds!

Of course, it’s important to keep in mind that dogs are individuals and not all Bichons and Great Danes will want to snuggle with you.

Earlier this year, I mentioned criteria you should think about when selecting your dog. I mentioned your lifestyle and your activity schedule. Do you have time to enjoy your dog? One thing I didn’t mentioned is the amount of space you have outdoors to allow your dog to exercise. Do you have a large yard or will you need to take your dog to a park every day for exercise?

ALBANY - The Concourse at the Empire State Plaza will go to the dogs Wednesday.

More than two dozen handlers and their canines will be there to participate in a training exercise.

The handlers will take part in environmental training, to help familiarize them with situations they may encounter out on patrol.
