Some cities across the country have banned or restricted dogs like pit bulls after they’ve attacked children or others.

On Wednesday, the Georgia Senate passed a bill, SB 184, that prohibits local governments from making laws about specific breeds of dogs.

Only the state would be able to make laws about pit bulls or other specific breeds of dogs, under the bill sponsored by Sen.

Yesterday the first five of the top 10 dog breeds of 2014 as the AKC, American Kennel Club, recently announced were listed on Examiner. Today is the second half of that list, number six through 10. The American people have chosen these dogs more often than any other dog breeds out there.

LOS ANGELES – When former Marine Joe Bonfiglio starts thrashing in his sleep, his pit bull service dog jumps on the bed, climbs on top of him and wakes him up to end the flashback.

This dog just may be the world's largest Pit Bull. Only 18-months-old, Hulk weighs a hefty 175 pounds.

Despite his intimidating size, his owners Marlon Grannan and his wife Lisa Grannan say Hulk is a sweet family dog and a best friend to their 3-year-old son Jordan.

On Tuesday, the American Kennel Club announced that, for the 24th straight year -- for every year since "The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air" premiered on television -- the Labrador retriever was the most popular breed among its members. An impressive streak, sure -- but what's happened in the rest of the top ten for the past two decades is much more interesting.

The American Kennel Club has unleashed (yes) its list of the most popular dogs in NYC, in addition to specifying the most popular breeds by neighborhood. Let's examine.

The most prevalent breed in the city is the French bulldog, an adorable smush-faced feat of engineering known for its easygoing demeanor and weird little fox ears.

The American Kennel Club has announced its most popular dog breeds of 2014. Labrador retrievers lead the pack nationwide, but the French Bulldog reigns supreme in New York City. 

The small but mighty Yorkshire Terrier -- once New York City's top dog - continues to fall out of favor with New Yorkers, dropping from sixth to eighth in 2014.

The American Kennel Club released their list of top 10 most popular dog breeds of 2014, with labrador retrievers jumping to the top spot. Labs took over the most popular dog spot from poodles from 2013.

But labs aren't the only breed of pooch's who've wagged their way into America's hearts.
