Free dog training, behavior workshops Saturday – Omaha World-Herald

Training a dog can be intimidating, but with help from a specialist it doesn't have to be.

David Codr, a dog behaviorist and weekly Dog Gone Problems blogger for, will host free dog training and behavior workshops Saturday at Mulhalls, 3615 N. 120th St. in Omaha.

The two 30-minute workshops, which are at 10 a.m. and 2 p.m., include demonstrations, training tips, and a chance for participants to ask their own behavior and training questions.

Codr has rehabilitated over 2,000 dogs around the country with dog psychology, communication techniques and positive reinforcement. Demand for his in-home training sessions in California and Omaha has increased leaving him unable to help everyone in need of help.

"I'm getting about 50 requests a week for help but since my sessions go a few hours, I can only book a dozen each week," he said. "The workshops give me a chance to help people I just don't have time to work with individually."

Usually, dogs are invited to these workshops but due to limited space organizers are asking participants to leave their furry friends at home.
