ELLSWORTH — Woodlawn welcomes back Coastal K-9 for Dog Training: Enhanced AKC CGC Group on Tuesday evenings, Sept. 20 to Oct. 18, from 5 to 6 p.m. each week.

This program is a jazzed-up version of the formal AKC Canine Good Citizen program, and offers fun-filled field trips to put your dog’s training to the true test and show off its social savvy and life training skills.

The first class on Tuesday, Sept. 20, will consist of an orientation at Woodlawn. The next three classes on September 27, Oct. 4 and 11, will be field trips.

The last class on Oct. 18 will be the actual Canine Good Citizen test and graduation at Woodlawn.

This is not a beginner’s class and dogs attending the Canine Good Citizen program must have had prior formal training. Please bring proof of vaccination to the first class along with a leash. The cost for the five-week program is $200 for Woodlawn members and $210 for nonmembers.

As space is limited, pre-registration is required by signing up online at woodlawnmuseum.org.

Coastal K-9 has more than 50 years of working with dogs in every echelon, from family pet to police dog, and all ages from birth throughout all stages of a dog’s life.
