Every year, the American Kennel Club culls registration data to determine the most popular dog breeds in the U.S.

But how do Long Islanders prefer their pooches? Big or small, mellow or high-maintenance, loud or quiet?

It would seem, all of the above. The just-announced 2014 list of most popular dog breeds on Long Island has some shakeups, including two feisty guys romping into the top 10, but plenty of our favorites have held their ground.
