The art of teaching obedience is overlooked by many dog owners and sportsmen, resulting in an unsatisfactory relationships and missed opportunities for years of pleasure.

Few will disagree that there is nothing more disturbing than an unruly dog that refuses the commands – “ here,” “ sit” and “heel.” Such disobedience often results in injury or death to a dog and confounds the peacefulness of a day afield.

So my girlfriend has this beautiful collie pup called Teddie, and I have showed her videos of trail dogs in the past, and we always joked about making Teddie one, well today we finally got Teddie out on the trail with me, and right from the beginning she showed an eagerness to follow the bike, however she mainly wanted to rush ahead and as her breed is widely used for sheep dogs, she was constantly trying to heard me from the beginning, but after a few rides and a lot of treats and praise, we got her running beside me and also following me.

Jennalee Bee will tell you she’s really more of a people trainer than a dog trainer.

“I’m here to train you to train your dog,” said Bee, who owns Bow Wow Know How.

Bee is certified through the Certification Council for Professional Dog Trainers and the Karen Pryor Academy. She’s also an AKC Canine Good Citizen Evaluator and a member of the Association of Pet Dog Trainers.

RENO, Nev. (MyNews4.com & KRNV) -- Vigilant Canine Services International has announced the addition of a civilian dog training program at their global headquarters in Reno, Nevada. Up until now, VCSi has only provided K-9 training to military, law enforcement agencies, government, and private military companies.

VCSi will be adding a number of dog training options that will be available to the general public.

Question: I have taught my dog Brutus to walk on a leash without pulling, which he does perfectly, but only on the way home from the park where he gets to run every day. On the way to the park, he pulls so hard that he retches, and I can hardly control him.
